Prior to retiring, she had a strong litigation practice, specializing in insurance and personal injury cases. She also represented clients in national arbitration proceedings.
Joanna retired from the partnership in August 2023. With decades of extensive and varied experience under her belt, Joanna has now undertaken the role of consultant, both in terms of training colleagues in the office as well as providing support in complex matters in which she has the relevant background.

Achilleas joined the firm in 1988. He has developed a broad practice that includes both contentious and non-contentious matters, and spans intellectual property, competition law and human rights, representing both national and international clients. He is particularly sought after for his expertise in representing clients before the European Court of Human Rights. He is also a European Patent Attorney, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has a keen interest in intellectual property matters, acting only on behalf of rights-holders and preparing and executing anti-piracy plans. Finally, he advises on pharmaceutical regulatory matters and assists startups.
He was heavily involved in the drafting and enactment of the Patents Law in 1998 and is a founding member of the Copyright Association in Cyprus (Ένωση Δικαιωμάτων Πνευματικής Ιδιοκτησίας). Moreover, he was the President of the Human Rights Committee in the Cyprus Bar Association from 2015-2021, and a founding member of the NGO TRUTH NOW in Cyprus.
Achilleas is frequently asked to speak on human rights matters, particularly with regard to the property issues arising from the Cyprus Problem.

Working as an internal legal advisor in the insurance company and then as the Head Legal Advisor of the legal department of a leading Cypriot bank for many years, and having worked in Greece prior to that. Theodora brought a keen sense of commercial awareness to the office when she joined the firm in 2008. This allows her to provide highly accurate and bespoke advice to corporate clients. She heads the Corporate team and is frequently involved on advising on financial transactions.
Theodora is often invited to speak at anti-money laundering conferences and is also the office’s liaison with the ADVOC network.

Natasa heads the Administrative Law department and has extensive experience representing clients before the Administrative Court. Her administrative law expertise complements her heavy involvement with preparing and filing cases with the European Court of Human Rights, as well as her general litigation practice before the Civil Courts, including the Industrial Disputes Tribunal. She has been particularly involved with obtaining justice for the families of the missing.
She provides expert advice in Labour Law matters and is also experienced in representing clients before the SBA Courts of Justice in Dhekelia and Episkopi.
Natasa is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association’s Human Rights Committee and an active member of the NGO TRUTH NOW, which promotes the right to truth as an individual as well as a collective right. She often attends and is invited to speak at conferences concerning these issues.
Natasa is the office’s liaison with the ADVOC Junior network.

Nicoletta advises on the full range of intellectual property matters, and assists clients with the enforcement of their rights through litigation where necessary. She works with Customs to help clients with border control antipiracy measures, and is often asked to provide training in relation to the identification of counterfeit goods. Furthermore, she has experience in assisting clients with obtaining patent protection for their inventions, and collaborates with a network of experienced patent attorneys.
Her work in the life sciences sector complements her intellectual property background, and she is heavily involved with advising pharmaceutical companies on regulatory and compliance matters. Where necessary, she represents clients before the Tenders Review Authority, and regularly attends international conferences to stay abreast of developments in pharmaceutical and intellectual property law. She is also a qualified arbitrator.
