Work With Us

We have always been very keen on offering the opportunity not only to young graduates but also to law students to gain hands-on experience in the field, by joining one of the programmes that our Office offers: a two-week summer internship and the one-year training programme.

The two-week summer internship

This short-term, two-week internship is offered to law students who have finished their first, second or third year of studies. It commences from the second week of July and lasts until the end of August.

During the internship programme, the intern is assigned to one of the Office lawyers and is given the opportunity to assist and shadow him/her.

Interns may conduct legal research and assist in the drafting of opinions or pleadings. The legal work they will be assigned depends on the lawyer they will be assisting as well as on the knowledge and abilities of the intern.

How to apply for the two-week summer internship

Due to the Covid-19 measures, we are not currently accepting applications for the 2020 summer internship programme. Please continue to check this section at regular intervals for any updates. We will also post updates on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, which you can follow for any developments.

The one-year training programme

This programme offers the opportunity to one or two law graduates who have attained an upper second (2:1) law degree (or equivalent), and a Master’s degree in Law (either obtained or in the process of obtaining it), to join our Office as a trainee advocate.

The training programme commences in September and lasts for 12 months. During this period, the trainee is allowed special study leave of two months to prepare for and take the examinations of the Cyprus Bar Association, in order to obtain his/her licence to practise.

How to apply for the one-year training programme

We would like to inform you that our office will not be accepting applications for the one-year training programme for 2019-2020.

If you are interested in this programme, please send us an email to info@ldlaw.com.cy, anytime, by the end of January prior to the commencement of the training programme, outlining the reason you have chosen our Office and attaching your CV, together with copies of your degrees and transcripts (where available).

We will consider your application and inform you whether you have been short-listed for an interview. It is noted that high academic performance and fluency in both Greek and English are prerequisites for applying, whilst effective communication, adaptability to changing work demands and an ability to work in a fast-moving environment as a member of a team are considered an advantage.

At the end of the training programme, there is the prospect of full-time employment, provided that the training programme is completed successfully and the Cyprus Bar Association examinations have been passed.
