Careers

We have always been very keen on offering the opportunity not only to young graduates but also to law students to gain hands-on experience in the field, by joining one of the programmes that our Office offers: a two-week summer internship and the one-year training programme.

The two-week summer internship programme

This short-term, two-week programme is offered to law students who have finished their first, second or third year of studies. It commences from the first week of June and lasts up until the end of the second week of September.

During the internship programme, the intern is assigned to one of the Office lawyers and is given the opportunity to assist and shadow him/her.

Interns may accompany the lawyer to court, conduct legal search and assist in the drafting of opinions. The legal work they will be assigned depends on the lawyer they will be assisting as well as on the knowledge and abilities of the intern.

How to apply for the two-week summer internship programme

If you are interested in this programme, please send us an email to info@ldlaw.com.cy, anytime, between the beginning of April and the end of May, stating the reason you have chosen our Office and attaching your CV.

We will consider your application and let you know whether you could join the internship programme. It should be noted that high academic performance and fluency in both Greek and English are prerequisites for applying.

The positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The one-year training programme

This programme offers the opportunity to one or two law graduates who have attained an upper second (2:1), law degree and a Master’s degree in Law (either obtained or in the process of obtaining it) to join our Office as a trainee for a year – a mandatory training period according to Cyprus Law.

The pupillage commences in September and lasts for 12 months. During this period, the trainee is allowed special study leave of two months to prepare for and take the examinations of the Cyprus Bar Association, in order to obtain his practising licence.

How to apply for the one-year training programme

If you are interested in this programme, please send us an email to info@ldlaw.com.cy, anytime, between the months of October and December of the year prior to the commencement of the pupilage, outlining the reason you have chosen our Office and attaching your CV, together with copies of your degrees and transcripts.

We will consider your application and inform you whether you have been short-listed for an interview. It is noted that high academic performance and fluency in both Greek and English are prerequisites for applying, whilst effective communication, adaptability to changing work demands and an ability to work in a fast-moving environment as a member of a team are considered an advantage.

We normally offer one or two trainee positions per year, with the prospect of full-time employment provided, of course, that the training programme is completed successfully and the Cyprus Bar Association examinations have been passed. It is noted that positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
